Into Stour Street
(Photo 2002)

On the left, there is the County Hotel and an entrance to its restaurant is a little further on.

The buildings on the right-hand side all back onto the River Stour, hence the name of this street. On the right, the cream building is the Post Office where you can buy stamps and the like, one of its exits is tucked round the corner near the telephone box.

The brick building in the centre of the picture is part of the large Post Office complex that used to be here in the centre of the city. It was the main Sorting Office, which has moved out of the city. It's still used by British Telecom and houses the main Canterbury exchange.
